OnSend's Engagement Features to Retain a Community

An analysis of OnSend's deep engagement layer, exploring how coin economies, social squads, and deterministic rewards drive long-term member retention.

The OnSend Team

While a leaderboard may attract initial interest, it rarely sustains long-term participation. True retention is driven by a robust infrastructure beneath the surface. OnSend is designed with a comprehensive engagement layer that provides members with meaningful reasons to remain active long after their first campaign concludes.

The following elements constitute this foundational layer.

Coin Shop

OnSend distinguishes between XP and Coins to serve different psychological and functional purposes. XP represents a member's permanent standing and only increases over time. In contrast, Coins function as a liquid currency earned through quests, daily missions, and milestones. These can be exchanged in the shop for utility items, such as streak protection.

This structural separation ensures that spending currency never compromises a member's rank or perceived progress. By decoupling acquisition from status, the system encourages active participation in the ecosystem without the fear of losing competitive standing.

Squads

Squads transform the solitary experience of climbing a leaderboard into a collaborative effort. A squad becomes active with a minimum of three members and can scale to fifty, featuring a dedicated group leaderboard that tracks collective XP.

To maintain integrity, squads undergo rigorous anti-bot screening before activation. If a significant portion of the group is flagged as suspicious, the squad remains restricted from live features. Furthermore, squads can earn shared bonuses when multiple members complete the same quest within a specific timeframe, incentivizing genuine social coordination.

Mystery Boxes

Mystery Boxes introduce an element of chance, offering rewards such as XP boosts or multipliers. The outcome is determined by a transparent, deterministic algorithm based on the user's wallet and quest data. This ensures that results are consistent and verifiable, preventing users from attempting to manipulate outcomes through page refreshes while providing clear audit trails.

As with all OnSend features, these rewards are subject to anti-fraud checks, ensuring that only verified participants benefit from the system.

The following features, PvP and Prediction Markets, are currently undergoing legal review within our Genesis campaign. Upon completion, they will be available for all customer campaigns.

PvP

The PvP arena, where members stake coins head-to-head on a provably-fair coin flip.

The PvP module allows members to stake coins against one another in a zero-issuance model. Payouts are handled within a single transaction, moving currency from the loser to the winner. The platform retains a nominal fee from the losing side to ensure winners receive their full expected value. The system maintains strict mathematical conservation to ensure every transaction balances perfectly.

Prediction Markets

A parimutuel prediction market, where members stake coins on a specific outcome.

Prediction Markets operate on a similar principle, allowing members to stake coins on specific outcomes. Upon resolution, the pool is redistributed to successful participants. This model follows the same conservation and zero-issuance rules as PvP, maintaining a sustainable and fair environment for all users.
